if you used to identify as bi and now know you’re a lesbian, you’re not proving to straight people that bi women eventually choose a side. if you identified as a lesbian and now realize you’re bi, you’re not proving to straight people that lesbians just have to find the right man. if you used to identify as a trans guy but now you’re a lesbian, you’re not proving to cis people that trans men are all confused lesbians with internalized misogyny. they may think you’ve proved them right, but that’s because homophobes and transphobes will twist anything to support their own disgusting beliefs. their bigotry is not your fault.

it is not your responsibility to prove them wrong at the cost of your own happiness. 

i want to make this clear. there is nothing wrong with learning about yourself. there is nothing wrong with growing and changing, and there’s nothing wrong with the words you use to describe yourself evolving with you.
