So I can’t take credit for this theory it’s been around for a bit. And Crystal Clear on the Roundtable already did a theory video before I posted about this. But I’ve always wondered if the Diamond’s were made by cosmic means. A very rare, special process. Not just with injectors.
Now what are the Diamonds’ made of? Stars.
White Diamond drops as much in her reveal episode.
She refers to Pink Diamond as Starlight…
And we’ve seens stars mentioned all over SU…
Heck we even have a star transition at the end of most episodes.
Even Steven himself always wears a shirt with a Star. Granted it’s from Greg. But foreshadowing is also possible through seemingly unrelated things…
And not just Steven every single Crystal Gem has gotten the star.
Even Peridot points it out. “The star! Where am I gonna put the star.” It is a known symbol of the Crystal Gems now.
Now let’s pull things back over to Pink Diamond.
In the new trailer we get this lovely hand drawn images. Catching all of our attention. Who drew them? We don’t know yet. Maybe Pink.
But… what’s interesting is what the pictures tell us.
I noticed that there seems to be some sort of meteor. And that the next photo shows some purple creatures harvesting the remains. Breaking it into chunks. Until they hit a pink portion. That starts to drop a shining droplet. Then in the next photo Pink has joined the diamonds.
This is direct story telling.
This is Pink being born.
From a Shooting Star.
The diamonds also seem to shimmer. And in White’s case even glow. When using their powers they resemble Star’s in the sky.
The diamond attack rains down from the heavens. Among the stars.
The three diamonds power shining as bright as the stars themselves.
But I have something I want to add here… Two scenes that have been forgotten by most. We may have seen a part of the star Pink Diamond came from already. And it’s name…
THE SHOOTING STAR
Episodes shown being: Monster Buddies. And Winter Forecast.
Pearl herself in Monster Buddies practically gushes over the thing. Her eyes even sparkle with diamonds.
She tells us all about it.
She calls it an ELEMENTAL. Like it’s alive.
Most gems can’t even touch it.
And look at the crystals inside it. PINK! THEY ARE PINK. AND THE ROCK SHINES JUST LIKE WHITE DOES!
And we know from Winter Forecast as well. That handling this thing is very hard. If it’s dropped it unleashes a huge power that can whip out it’s surroundings.
This was not a throw away.
THIS IS IMPORTANT!
Even the Murals show an association with stars. Each diamond surrounded by planets and moons. And what is also in the sky besides planets and moons? Stars. Celestials.
THE DIAMONDS ARE MADE FROM A VERY SPECIAL TYPE of COMET and PINK’S was even more special.
I mean we have two songs that if you pay attention to the lyrics. Now seem to be referring to Pink herself. As nicely put by the RoundTable.
Also notice in Sadie’s Song. Steven himself has a Star put on his check.
Also come on guys… STAR EYES!

THE SHOOTING STAR IS A PIECE OF WHAT DIAMONDS ARE MADE FROM! BOOM THERE IS MY CONTRIBUTION TO THE THEORY!
You exist in a world where Evil, Pure Evil, is real. This is not philosophical concept where the most spineless of thinkers attempt to render everything to the most base of ambiguities. It is an animating force of the hungry dead, the banner of fiends hungry for souls to enslave for eternity, the Darkness pooling from the outside, bringing with it horrors unmentionable. And it can be read upon the hearts and souls of people, even yourself.
And in turn so is Good. It is the energy that births worlds, the miracle stuff that can birth souls from the inanimate. Lords of the Empyrean, the Honorable Archons teaching the codes that promise justice, the Noble Angels instructing the promise of love in all its forms, the Brave Azata showing all souls how to be free from chains and darkness. It is the beauty of an old man teaching his grandaughter stories of how to be kind and brave, and her, even when she is alone in this world, remembering what he told her and making the quiet fire of what she learned burn brightly forever.
To be a “generic” paladin, is to realize not only is there a Darkness to be faced, it’s not enough. You must be everything the Darkness is not, the promise of Light in a frail mortal shell. Whether the gods found you worthy or your faith was bright enough alone, you made the Oath that no Darkness can defeat or understand. To Rage Against the Dying of the Light, To Be What the Darkness Cannot Comprehend.
That alone makes you extraordinary. You make a choice and make it again and again to speak for what makes these worlds worth saving.
I’m getting kinda sick of this modern idea that to be good or beyond reproach is boring. It manifests a lot in resentment towards Superman stories, and the idea that Paladins are “boring” or one dimensional by nature…like- sure we’re all flawed by why do we call anyone who strives to rise above “boring”??
if you ever try to befriend me and you expect to be in frequent contact with me i am so sorry. i do that with maybe two people and even then i often go days or weeks without saying anything before talking daily for a while.
the point is if we dont talk that doesnt mean i dont like u and think about u a lot im just terrible at maintaining close relationships
